Universal Design Studio were commissioned to design a champagne bar and light restaurant serving Fortnum & Mason’s unique and heritage product.
The bar provides a moment of respite for travellers within the busy terminal. Referencing English silverware, the freestanding canopy structure which extends over 4m and weights 2.8 tons is made from nickel-plated steel to form a warm glow, offering familiarity and comfort within the airport terminal.
Around the canopy the bar sits a central glazed food display, clad in hand pressed ceramic tiles in Fortnum & Mason’s signature colour ‘eau de neil’, a polished pewter bar top, custom nickel coat hooks and custom bar seats in velvet and leather.
